Inviting My Mother on Our Holiday

February 15th, 2012

After deciding to take the children away to Hengar Manor after the breakup with their father, I decided to take my mother with us as well. Since my partner walked out, she had been the disciplinarian in the house and my children respected her for that. I think my mother was the only thing that kept the children from going off the rails after their father walked out. As a way of thanking her for the help that she had given me over the past few months, I asked her if she would like to go away on this holiday as well. I explained to her that the plan was that children could be children with the staff of the country park doing their wild wild West days and playing with bow and arrows while we spent some time together at the spa getting massages and hot stone treatments. We didn’t have much longer to wait!

Get Both Lets Rock Elmo and Rock Star Mickey

August 31st, 2011

I think Let’s Rock Elmo might be one toy to watch this year. Every year when Elmo toys are released they tend to do really well. There is something magical about Elmo. They usually don’t stick Elmo’s name on a toy unless it is a great toy. The reason Elmo toys do so well is because he is so adorable on Sesame Street. I don’t see that many Oscar the Grouch toys. That’s because Oscar is so stinky. Nobody wants a stinky toy. Imagine a toy smelling like a garbage can. Another toy with a lot of appeal is Rock Star Mickey. Rock Star Mickey is a Mickey Mouse toy. Mickey mouse toys are pretty popular as well. There is something magical about both Mickey and Elmo. Not every toy seems to have the same type of allure and likability. Both these toys appear to be so life like that it is so hard to choose just one. I want them both.

My Little Girl is Ready for Her Quince

July 9th, 2011

I guess that Maria’s Quinceanera is going to be a pretty big deal. At first I was hoping that we could keep it relatively small, but her mother and her aunts all laughed at this idea. They started listing all of Maria’s cousins and all of the people we would have to invite. It looks as though anything less than 150 or 200 people would be impractical. Maria turns 15 in September so I have decided that I shall begin by looking for reception halls in Houston right away. I shall not have to worry about her dress, her Aunt Alejandra is going to take care of that and it is apparently going to be spectacular. I am wondering if the reception hall will have most of the other things we shall need, like tables, table linens, decorations and chairs. I really have no clue as to what is included when you rent a reception hall.
