Denises 8th Birthday

My niece wanted a swimming party on her eighth birthday so her mom and I planned the party. It wasn’t really a big one, just their family and mine. We rented the pool at the clubhouse for a day; bought a birthday cake; pizzas; and fried chicken.

When we arrived at the clubhouse, all the kids changed to their bathing suits and swimming trunks. Just as they were finishing, it rained… hard. It was summer so none of us bothered to check the weather. But if you think the rain stopped the kids from jumping into the pool, you’re wrong. The adults backed out but the kiddos didn’t.

They swam for hours and enjoyed the cold water even if it was raining. They only got out of the pool to eat and rest a while then they were back in the pool again. It was already dark when they stopped and it was still drizzling. My sister-in-law and I are thankful that they didn’t let the rain ruin their day.
